Pollinator Week
Celebrate Pollinator Week!
“Pollinator Week is an annual celebration in support of pollinator health that was initiated and is managed by Pollinator Partnership. It is a time to raise awareness for pollinators and spread the word about what we can do to protect them. The great thing about Pollinator Week is that you can celebrate and get involved any way you like!”
Tree Giveaway - Bee Day, KDB
Volunteer with We Plant it Forward and give away free trees in celebration of pollinators!
Help We Plant it Forward run our tree giveaway table at the Keep Durham Beautiful Bee Fest at Durham Central Park for Pollinator Week!
As a volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to raise awareness of the many benefits of trees, promote tree planting, grow our tree canopy, and create both a healthier environment and a happier community!
What you’ll do:
Volunteers will help We Plant it Forward staff prepare for the tree giveaway, which includes putting up the tent, setting up the table, and laying out the materials.
After setting up, volunteers will run the tree giveaway, giving out free trees, and keeping inventory along the way.
Finally, at the end of the tree giveaway, volunteers will help take down the tent, table, and materials, and pack the car.

Arbor Day Festival Planning Committee
Help We Plant it Forward bring a fun environmental festival to Raleigh!
The Raleigh Earth Day and Arbor Day Celebration is an opportunity to spread awareness and forge a sense of community purpose around the benefits of trees and environmental sustainability. Supporting a healthier natural environment leads to healthier and happier people!
Volunteers are encouraged to join We Plant it Forward staff and board members as we plan for the 2026 Raleigh Earth Day and Arbor Day Celebration!
What you’ll do:
As a volunteer, you’ll attend weekly meetings with We Plant it Forward staff and board members.
Between meetings, volunteers will have the opportunity to sign up for tasks, all critical to planning the festival, including:
Planning environmental demonstrations
Developing a trivia game
Securing sponsorship
Assisting with impact measurements
…and more!

Raleigh City Council Meeting
Looking for a way to make an impact?
Attend the Raleigh City Council Meeting to advocate for the preservation and restoration of our tree canopy, and to support budget allocation to plant 24,000 trees by 2032 through Leaf Out, Raleigh’s 240th anniversary!
Parking:
The parking garage is behind the building. Bring your parking ticket with you to validate it at the machine outside the City Council Chamber.
Raleigh Growth and Natural Resources Committee Meeting -on native plants, tree care, and Leaf Out
Raleigh City Council Growth and Natural Resources Committee meeting we will hear from Raleigh City staff on recommended native plant list, Dix Park mature tree care and Leaf Out update on the Raleigh tree canopy plan. Stay up to date on what the City is doing to support trees. Come show your support for the preservation and restoration of Raleigh’s tree canopy.

Rain Barrel Workshop - Lake Crabtree Park
Registration Now Open
Build your own rain barrel! Participants in this workshop will take home a fully functional 55-gallon rain barrel with installation kit.
Workshop space is limited, so reserve your spot now. One registration per barrel. Cost is $55 per barrel, and participation is limited to two people per barrel. Preregistration is required: Click here to register on the Lake Crabtree County park program registration page.
The workshop will be held at the park’s Maintenance Facility Yard.

Raleigh Earth Day and Arbor Day Celebration
We Plant it Forward is proud to host this year’s Raleigh Earth Day and Arbor Day Celebration in partnership with the City of Raleigh!
This fun-filled annual festival is a call to celebrate trees and create a sense of community purpose toward the preservation and restoration of the natural environment.
Join us for family-friendly activities, live entertainment, food trucks, a movie in the park, and so much more! This is also a great chance to get involved, with plenty of ways to volunteer, including group volunteer opportunities for schools and businesses!
