Native tree seed collection We partner with local parks and conservation organizations to collect native tree seeds on public and conservation land. Volunteers walk with a leader experienced in tree identification who will show volunteers how to collect the tree seeds. We walk on and off trails so sturdy closed-toe shoes and long pants are recommended. We also take time to weigh and process the seeds to get them ready for planting. The tree seeds we collect are donated to two local  tree nurseries that grow the trees. In return, We Plant it Forward receives some of those trees for our giveaway and planting programs. We need up to 15 volunteers and collect native tree seeds for up to 2-3 hours. 

Cause: preserve the biodiversity of the community’s tree canopy.
